AK Const. Art. 1, § 19: “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The individual right to keep and bear arms shall not be denied or infringed by the State or a political subdivision of the State. ”

1. Sale/Transfer:

It is considered illegal to sell or transfer a switchable or gravity knife to a person under the age of 18.

2.Forbidden:

There is no restrictions on knives under Alaska laws.

  • It is illegal to speak to a person who as a restraining order on you with a non-pocket knife.
  • It is considered illegal, to not tell officers that you possess the non-pocket knives when stopped by them.

4. Statewide Preemption :

They would have a permit to carry firearms and knives under the section §29.35-145

5.Critical Dimensions:

There is no any Alaska knife laws which states the dimension or the maximum length of the knives.

6.Schools:

It is considered to be illegal to possess the knives in school premises without the permission of Chef Administrative Officer.
